Notts About Minis

Nott’s About Minis would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who pledged and attended the Charity Run held in aid of Hayward House on Sunday 19^th September 2010. It was a brilliant day with a great turn out!  The club would also like to give a special Thank You to everyone that was involved in planning and organising the event. It wouldn’t have been possible without your hard work.

We are hoping to calculate the total amount of money raised for Hayward House at the earliest possible opportunity in order to organise a date for the cheque presentation. We therefore kindly ask for all sponsorship money and donations to be handed in by the next club meeting on Tuesday 28th September 2010 which will be held at the Rolls Royce sports and social club in Hucknall.

We understand that it is not always possible to collect all donations at such short notice but it would be appreciated if you could try.

Nott’s About Minis would like to say thank you to all the people who kindly had a go on our football card ran in aid of Hayward House Hospice Nottingham at the 2010 Minifest show held at Uttoxexter Racecourse on Sunday 5th September 2010. The winning football club hidden under the blue strip was Exeter crowning Minis-R-Us as the winners of the prize fund who then very kindly donated their winnings of £30 to Hayward House bringing the total amount raised from the card alone to £80. Thank you, it was most appreciated !

This moves us nicely onto a reminder about this years charity run that is set to take place on Sunday September 19th 2010. The run has been planned to start at The Nottingham Knight Public House car park located on the A52 near Ruddington. We will be meeting at 9.30 am for a prompt 10.00 am start. The run will  end up at the Little John Public House in Ravenshead for a barbecue, weather permitting of course !

Most of us are aware that the money raised from fund raising events goes a long way towards helping establishments such as Hayward House to continue their excellent work. We are therefore hoping to match or beat the total of £820 that was raised from last years run. It’s set to be a great day out in aid of a worthy cause !

Hi all NAM members and friends,

The club is pleased to announce that it will be holding this years annual Christmas dinner at The Little John Inn (Ravenshead) at 2.00 pm on the 19th December 2010. For those wishing to attend this years meal  a non refundable deposit of £5 per head needs to be made payable to Ian Clipson or our club secretary Julie Easter by 1st November 2010. The full price of the three course meal will be £12.95 per Adult and £8.50 per Child.

The menu for the Christmas meal is as follows:

Starters

• Chef’s Homemade Tomato & Basil soup served with a Bread Roll and Butter
• Lightly Battered King Prawns with a Sweet Chilli Dip
• Mushrooms cooked in Garlic & Parsley Butter served with Warm Crusty Bread
• Fig & Goats Cheese Parcels served on a Bed of Mixed Leaves

Mains

• Traditional Roast Turkey served with Homemade Yorkshire Pudding, Chipolata Sausage, Stuffing,
• Roast & Mash Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables & Rich Turkey Gravy.
• Derbyshire Silverside of Beef served with Homemade Yorkshire Pudding, Roast & Mash Potatoes & Seasonal Vegetables
• Baked Fillet of Salmon served on a Bed of Crushed New Potatoes with Tarragon Cream & Seasonal Vegetables
• Mushroom & Mixed Pepper Stroganoff served with Rice

Desserts

• Traditional Christmas pudding with Brandy Sauce or Custard
• Lemon Roulade served with Ice Cream
• Chef’s Homemade Bread & Butter Pudding served with Custard

Nott’s About Minis are pleased to announce this years annual charity run in aid of Hayward house cancer care hospice, Nottingham. Last years run was a huge success with a special thank you going out to all the Nott’s About Minis and Nottingham Mini Bits club members who participated in the ‘three cities’ mini run on Sunday 20th September 2009.

By the time the cheque was presented to Hayward House on 14th November 2009, a grand total of £820 had been raised. This couldn’t have been achieved without the generous donations received from our club members, friends, family and members of the public. We can’t thank you all enough.

Eagerly awaiting this years run, the club are hoping to build upon last years success to once again raise money for such a good cause. It is therefore our pleasure to announce that this years charity run will take place on September 19th. Those wishing to participate in the run will meet at the Nottingham Knight pub on the A52, near Ruddington, at 9.30 a.m. More details of the run will be finalised and provided shortly so make sure you keep checking back.

Although this run is planned by Nott’s About Minis it is open to all Mini enthusiasts, friends and family. Spread the word and get them onboard through either sponsorship or getting them to meet us on route. Every little helps ! A minimum donation of £10 per car through either personal donation or sponsorship will be required for those wishing to attend the run, regardless of how many passengers attend.

Sponsorship forms are now available for collection from the Nott’s About Minis Secretary at any of our upcoming meetings or events for those wishing to get sponsors for the run. Alternatively we can post one to you upon request. Remember, the minimum amount of £10 can be made through either personal donation or sponsorship! Both would be fantastic but not compulsory.

We hope this event will once again raise a substantial amount of money for Hayward House Nottingham to allow them to continue their excellent work.
